Tracy Jr. racked up a team-high 103 rushing yards on 18 carries and rushed for a touchdown against the Panthers on Sunday. He also caught one reception for one yard.
The Giants went scoreless in the first half and were trailing 10-0 before Tracy sparked them into life. He rushed for a 32-yard score with 8:54 remaining in the third quarter.
Despite Tracy's solid outing against Carolina, the Giants suffered a 20-17 defeat in overtime after the running back fumbled on the first snap of the additional period to set the Panthers up in field-goal range.
Tracy Jr.'s stats vs. Panthers in Week 10:
- Rushing yards: 103
- Carries: 18
- Rushing touchdowns: 1
- Receiving yards: 1
- Receptions: 1
- Receiving touchdowns: 0
Tracy now has 545 yards on 107 carries and has rushed for three touchdowns. He also has 117 yards on 18 receptions across 10 games.
Unfortunately for Tracy, the Giants (2-8) are likely already out of the playoff race. However, the running back is certainly making a case that he could be a long-term prospect for New York's plans. The Giants lost Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason and now appear to have found a solid replacement for the two-time Pro Bowler in Tracy.
While there are still attributes in his game that Tracy can work on, he has proven that he can be relied upon to lead the the Giants' offensive backfield. It will be interesting to see how the rookie fares for the remainder of the season.
The Giants have a bye in Week 11 before hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 24.
