Where each team picks in the NFL Draft each year is largely dependent upon how they perform in the year prior. The draft goes in reverse order of the final standings, with the worst team earning the No. 1 pick. With Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season right around the corner, that spot is currently held by the Las Vegas Raiders.

They are currently tied with the New York Giants as the bottom teams in the overall standing after Week 14 with a 2-11 record. This could be an extremely important race between the two teams with both of them likely to be in the market to select a quarterback. Whoever finishes with the worse record, or owns the tiebreakers like the Raiders do now, would essentially get the first choice of quarterback.

Shedeur Sanders, Carson Beck and Cam Ward are currently the top-rated quarterback prospects, so it will be interesting to see which one goes first and which team will pick them in the 2025 NFL Draft. The New York Jets could potentially be another team in the mix for one of them as their 3-10 record currently has them at the seventh-overall pick.

It's unclear if Aaron Rodgers will return to the Jets next season, but even if he does, the franchise may still choose to select their quarterback of the future with his career seemingly nearing the end. A poor finish to the season would likely improve their pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and potentially put them in a better position to choose their next quarterback.

Another team who could be in the mix for the top pick, but are unlikely to be targeting a quarterback, is the New England Patriots. They currently have the third pick, but after selecting Drake Maye last year, they will probably be targeting other positions. Here's where they and every other team are projected to eventually sit in the 2025 NFL Draft order.

Projected 2025 NFL Draft order entering Week 15

According to Sportskeeda's NFL Playoff Predictor, the Carolina Panthers are the most likely team to earn the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see what they do with this selection as they have seen mixed results from Bryce Young. They could potentially pick a new quarterback, but according to Tony Pauline's Mock Draft, they are more likely to address other areas.

If that is the case, the New York Giants may still get their preferred choice of quarterback with the second pick in this simulated projection. With just four weeks remaining in the 2024 NFL season, it will be interesting to see how the draft order plays itself out.
