Paying attention to the Waiver Wire each week is an important strategy during each NFL Fantasy Football season. Acquiring players off the waiver wire is one of the most effective ways to improve a fantasy roster, as players' values change according to fluctuating circumstances during the NFL season.

Injuries and role changes within an offense are some of the critical factors that contribute to which players are valuable additions off the weekly Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football. Here are some of the top players to target during Week 8 of the 2022 season to give a valuable boost to a fantasy roster.

#1 - QB Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

In any fantasy league where Tua Tagovailoa was dropped due to his injuries, now is the time to pick him back up. He currently ranks in the top ten in total touchdowns this season, despite only playing in five games. He also ranks in the top ten in passing yards per game.

Tagovailoa carries a ton of upside for the rest of the season in a passing game that features Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The two elite wide receivers are each ranked in the top four in the NFL in receiving yards this year.

#2 - RB Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens

Gus Edwards returned to the Baltimore Ravens lineup in Week 7 just in time to replace the injured JK Dobbins. The Ravens feature a committee of running backs, but if Week 7 was any indication, it appears Edwards is their preferred option.

Edwards led the Ravens in the backfield with 16 carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns, despite playing in his first game since the 2020 NFL season. He is one of the most valuable Waiver Wire targets this week.

#3 - RB Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have been splitting carries between three running backs during the 2022 NFL season. Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been the trio's leader, with Jerrick McKinnon and Isiah Pacheco in the mix.

The Chiefs made a surprising announcement before their Week 7 game against the San Francisco 49ers. They officially named Pacheco the starting running back. Despite the Chiefs being on a bye week, he is worth adding to the Waiver Wire. Increased touches in the high-powered Chiefs offense offer plenty of upside.

#4 - RB D'Onta Foreman, Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers shockingly traded away superstar Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers this week. This opened the door for D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard to receive increased workloads within their offense.

Foreman appeared to be the preferred option for the Panthers, receiving 15 carries to Hubbard's nine. While the Panthers offense is relatively weak, finding starting running backs on the Waiver Wire is always valuable in Fantasy Football.

#5 - RB Michael Carter, New York Jets

The New York Jets received terrible news during their Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos. Rookie Breece Hall suffered a devastating knee injury, creating many vacated touches in the Jets offense.

The Jets quickly acquired James Robinson via trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will likely split carries with Michael Carter. It's unclear what the split will be, but with Robinson already likely rostered in most Fantasy Football leagues, Carter is a solid Waive Wire pick where available.

#6 - WR Marquise Goodwin, Seattle Seahawks

Marquise Goodwin put together a solid performance in Week 7, recording four receptions for 67 yards and two touchdowns. The Seattle Seahawks have been one of the most surprisingly productive offenses this season, and Goodwin got a piece of it.

Further increasing Goodwin's Waiver Wire value is his potential to receive an increased role in Week 8. DK Metcalf suffered an injury last week, and it's unclear if he will be forced to miss time.

#7 - WR Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants

The New York Giants have been in desperate need of a reliable wide receiver in their passing game. Rookie Wan'Dale Robinson may have been what they were looking for after his breakout performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.

Robinson recorded six receptions for 50 yards and may have earned himself additional targets moving forward. If he becomes the Giants' top receiver for Daniel Jones, he holds some value moving forward. He will likely be a popular Waiver Wire pick this week.

#8 - TE Harrison Bryant, Cleveland Browns

Harrison Bryant qualifies as a speculative Waiver Wire addition in Week 8 with an upside. Cleveland Browns starting tight end David Njoku suffered an ankle injury in Week 7 and is expected to miss time while he recovers.

Njoku has been targeted at least six times in each of his last five consecutive games, so Bryant could potentially take over a relatively significant role in their offense. Tight end is a difficult position to receive solid production in Fantasy Football, so Bryant is a solid Waiver Wire addition.
