Washington Commanders vs. Detroit Lions: Box score, player stats, and game summary feat. Jayden Daniels, Jared Goff
The Detroit Lions had been a top team in the NFL before, when they had the legendary Barry Sanders blitzing his way past defenses. But in 2023, that became nothing compared to the 12-5 divisional dominance and NFC Championship Game run that the offensive core of Jared Goff, David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Sam LaPorta achieved.

Washington Commanders vs. Detroit Lions game summary
The Lions began the game with a punt, but they responded very well, forcing a turnover on downs and punishing it with a Jahmyr Gibbs touchdown. The Commanders respinded with a field goal on the second drive.
Then they forced a fumble, which began an exchange of offensive touchdowns - a Brian Robinson Jr. rush, then consecutive catches by Sam LaPorta and Terry McLaurin:

Quan Martin then shockingly intercepted Jared Goff and returned it for six, seemingly changing the tone of the game. Jameson Williams mended the damage with a touchdown run, but Jayden Daniels responded by finding Zach Ertz:

A Mike Sainristil interception ended the first half.
The second half began just as the first had: with a punt. But this time, Gibbs made sure to punish it with a rushing touchdown. Brian Robinson would respond, however, with another of his own early in the fourth quarter after a long eight-minute drive.
Disaster struck the Lions right afterward, as Sainristil intercepted Jameson WIlliams on a trick play for the second - which the Commanders turned into a Jeremy McNichols touchdown.
They did score a field goal after that, then got a glimpse of hope when Zane Gonzalez missed an attempt. However, an interception by Jeremy Chinn ended the game, and with it, a season filled with promise but also ultimately fatal self-made blunders.
