The Washington Commanders face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18. They enter the game knowing that a win could help them secure the sixth seed in the NFC.
A sixth-seed position will mean that they would face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons or the Los Angeles Rams in the wildcard round. However, a seventh-seed berth will mean a first-round matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ahead of their Week 18 game, let's examine the injury status of a few key Commanders players.

Washington Commanders Week 18 injury report
Marshon Lattimore's injury update
According to CBS Sports, perennial Pro Bowler cornerback Marshon Lattimore hasn't participated in any training session this week. The lockdown corner is dealing with a hamstring injury and is yet to receive the all-clear to return to the gridiron.
The report states that Lattimore suffered the injury in the Week 16 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He must log in, as he reps at practice to make Sunday's match-day squad.
Terry McLaurin's injury update
According to the Washington Commanders website, Terry McLaurin was absent in Wednesday's training session. The veteran wide receiver was given a veteran's rest day and made his return to training the very next day.
McLaurin fully participated in Thursday's training session and looks on track to play in Week 18 against the Cowboys. The pass catcher has been immense this season and will aim to add to his stats in the last game of the regular season.
Tyler Owens' injury update
According to the team website, Tyler Owens has missed the first two training sessions of the week. Owens is dealing with an ankle issue and hasn't joined his teammates in training for the Cowboys matchup.
It's important to note that the safety missed the last game against the Atlanta Falcons because of the injury. If he cannot participate in Friday's session, expect Darrick Forrest to continue in Owens' place.
Austin Ekeler's injury update
According to Rotowire, Austin Ekeler is designated to return from the injured reserve following a month spent there due to a head injury. The veteran running back was placed on IR on Nov. 30, 2024, because of a concussion.
However, with the Washington Commanders set to play against the Cowboys in Week 18, they've welcomed Ekeler back to the fold. Ekeler has been a full participant all week and might make his return against the Cowboys, albeit in a limited capacity.
