Week 14 AFC West playoff scenarios: Do Chargers, Broncos stand a chance?

With their 41-32 win over the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football, the Denver Broncos took a step further toward securing a spot in the AFC playoffs.

The Broncos look set to break their run of seven consecutive losing campaigns this season. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix has so far contributed to Denver's resurgence as the team enters Week 14 holding the final playoff spot in the AFC.

Kansas City Chiefs playoff chances

The Kansas City Chiefs have rarely looked like the best team in the NFL this season, but they keep finding new ways to win.

The Chiefs survived another close game when they came off with a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday. The team has officially secured a postseason berth as a result of that win in Week 13.

After securing their place in the playoffs for the 10th consecutive season, the Chiefs can also win the AFC West divisional title for the ninth straight season by beating the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.

The Denver Broncos defeated the Browns in an exciting game at Empower Field on Monday, continuing their pursuit of their first postseason berth in nine years.

As they enter their bye week, Denver's victory in Week 13 puts them at 8-5 on the season and maintains their seventh-place standing in the AFC.

According to Sportskeeda Playoff Predictor tool, the Broncos will win two of their remaining four regular season games and finish with a 10-7 record. If they do so, they will qualify for the wildcard round as the No. 7 seed in the AFC.

Los Angeles Chargers playoff chances

The Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13, boosting their postseason prospects. Following Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, they moved up to the fifth spot in the AFC playoff picture with an 8-4 record, surpassing the Ravens.

The Chargers displayed resiliency to climb back into the winning column on the road in Atlanta on Sunday after suffering a crushing defeat to the Ravens in Week 12.

Las Vegas Raiders playoff chances

The Las Vegas Raiders are already mathematically out of postseason contention after suffering yet another defeat in Week 13.

As of this writing, the Raiders, who are currently 2-10 and on a seven-game losing streak, are expected to have a top-two selection in the draft. They will have a great opportunity to choose their franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft with a high draft pick, which could help the team turn around their fortunes.
