The San Francisco 49ers' hopes of making the playoffs are in shambles after losing three straight games. Only a much-needed win this week over the Chicago Bears, who haven't won since October, would give San Francisco a realistic shot to return to playoff contention.
With a record of 5-7, the 49ers' roster has been severely disrupted by injuries at various points this season. The most recent one was a probable season-ending PCL injury sustained by running back Christian McCaffrey against the Buffalo Bills in Week 13.
Let's take a look at other injury issues the Niners are facing ahead of their must-win game against the Bears on Sunday.

49ers injury report for Week 14
It is evident from the San Francisco 49ers' injury report, which was made public on Wednesday, that a number of the team's key players are still hampered by injuries.
Due to a variety of injuries, defensive end Nick Bosa (hip/oblique), linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee), guard Aaron Banks (concussion), and tackle Trent Williams (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
On Wednesday's practice report, running back Jordan Mason was also listed as DNP due to a high ankle sprain; however, it was later revealed that he is still expected to be placed on injured reserve.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), safety Talanoa Hufanga (wrist), and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (knee) were all involved in practice on Wednesday, but they were only able to log limited participations.
Nick Bosa injury update
Nick Bosa has been absent from the San Francisco 49ers' last two games due to oblique and hip ailments. Although head coach Kyle Shanahan admitted the unpredictable nature of injury recoveries, he has expressed hope that Bosa may play again against the Chicago Bears in Week 14.
Bosa was DNP in practice on Wednesday, but he still has Thursday and Friday to return to practice. If he can't, he'll probably be unavailable for the Niners on Sunday as well.
Trent Williams injury update
Trent Williams missed Wednesday's team practice because he is still recovering from an ankle injury. The seasoned offensive tackle has been dealing with the issue for the past few weeks, and it has kept him out of the last two games.
For Williams to have a chance to play against the Bears on Sunday, he probably needs to practice in some way on Thursday or Friday.
Christian McCaffrey injury update
On Monday, Kyle Shanahan revealed that All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey has sustained a new injury that will keep him out for a while, probably until the end of the season.
McCaffrey suffered a PCL injury against the Buffalo Bills last weekend. His new injury won't necessitate surgery, the head coach added, but he will be placed on injured reserve because it will take him around six weeks to make a full recovery.
Running back Jordan Mason will also be placed on the injured reserve list because of an ankle sprain he sustained last weekend.
