The NFL draft order changes after each week of the season depending on the results of games. With Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season approaching, the Jacksonville Jaguars own the top pick. They are in a three-way tie with the worst overall record at 2-10, but the tiebreakers place them at the top of the order with just five weeks to go.
The New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders are the other 2-10 teams, but unlike the Jaguars, they are likely in the market to draft a quarterback. Jacksonville recently locked Trevor Lawrence to a massive contract extension, while the other two teams have yet to find a reliable starter this year. This suggests that the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft would be more valuable to them.
The New York Jets are another interesting team to keep an eye on as Aaron Rodgers' future is unclear. They have the sixth-overall pick with their 3-9 record and could be looking for a new QB in the draft. Even if Rodgers returns for the 2025 season, the franchise's future could benefit from targeting the position this year.
Another team that remains in the mix for the top pick is the New England Patriots, who like the Jaguars, are unlikely to pick a QB. They selected one last year when they drafted Drake Maye third overall, so they will likely try to improve in other areas. They are in a solid position to do so as they have the fourth overall pick for now.

Projected 2025 NFL Draft order entering Week 14
According to a simulation by Sportskeeda's NFL Playoff Predictor, the New England Patriots are likely to earn the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. This could surpass the Jacksonville Jaguars, who own the No. 1 pick, but are projected to select third. They are also passed by the Carolina Panthers, who are in an interesting situation in terms of their QBs.
The Panthers selected Bryce Young just two years ago, but his future appears to be in limbo. He was benched earlier in the season in favor of veteran Andy Dalton before earning the job back recently. He has played better since returning to the lineup, but the fact that he was benched in his second season suggests that the Panthers aren't sold on him. With a projected premium pick in the 2025 NFL draft, they may choose to try again with a different prospect.
