Week 15 Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Philadelphia Eagles prediction and fantasy outlook feat. Saquon Barkley, Russell Wilson

The Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers will once again be facing off in their intrastate interconference game, with both teams pegged as the favorites to win their respective divisions.

After suffering one of the most brutal late-season collapses in 2023, Nick Sirianni's squad has returned to elite form thanks to Saquon Barkley, who has made his former teammates in New York look sheepish by hitting 1,000 yards. Meanwhile, over in Western Pennsylvania, Russell Wilson seems to have found the fountain of youth, overcoming an early leg injury to empower a strong run game and defense en route to a 10-3 record.

Steelers vs. Eagles prediction

Both squads have strong rosters littered with potential dominators, but the Eagles have a sizable advantage.

While Wilson has been good, Jalen Hurts has been godly. With Barkley dominating, he does not have to throw much, instead using the sneak as his primary offensive skill. But when he does throw, he does so with career-high accuracy - 68.3%.

And speaking of throwing, he has an elite pair of wideouts to feed in AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith, as opposed to just George Pickens for his counterpart. He also has the benefit of having a more talented offensive line before him, bannered by tackles Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson.

The defensive side of the ball is more contentious. The Eagles have a slightly better defensive line, while the secondary is more or less evenly matched, with ballhawk Pro Bowlers Darius Slay and Minkah Fitzpatrick leading the way. The Steelers, however, have the better linebackers - a monstrous core of Pro Bowlers TJ Watt and Patrick Queen, Alex Highsmith and Elandon Roberts that might ultimately prove the difference in an upset win.

Prediction: Steelers 17, Eagles 16

Steelers vs. Eagles fantasy outlook

The player to look out for is Saquon Barkley, obviously. He has been nothing but dominant, hovering at RB2 in the Sportskeeda fantasy football rankings behind only Derrick Henry. If he can defeat the aforementioned monstrous linebacking core, then he stands a chance of catapulting himself to the absolute top of the list.

However, Russell Wilson is also another player worth mentioning. There had been doubts as to wheter he could recover from his disappointing stint with the Denver Broncos, and they were seemingly bolstered when he got injured.

But after Justin Fields went 4-2 in his absence, Wilson has been efficient, going 6-1 and setting a career-high 8.4 yards per game in the limited number of throws he has completed. And with the Eagles' pass rush somewhat lacking in star power, he could have a very good night.
