Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season features a matchup between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills as a part of the Sunday slate. The Jets have already been eliminated from the NFL Playoff Picture, while the Bills have clinched a postseason spot. Both teams also still have plenty of relevant players for fantasy football, so here's how this game breaks down.
New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills prediction
The New York Jets have been playing much better in recent weeks, but it's too late for them to make a run at a spot into the NFL Playoffs. They have already been eliminated from the AFC picture entering their Week 17 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Seeding is still an important factor for the Bills with two games remaining on their schedule, despite the fact that they have already clinched the AFC East division title and a spot in the postseason.
They can no longer catch the Kansas City Chiefs, who locked up the top seed last week and will get the coveted first-round bye and home-field advantage, but the Bills still have the two-seed to play for.
With a win against the Jets, or one against the New England Patriots next week, Buffalo will clinch the second-seed in the AFC. This means that the only way it would have to go on the road prior to the Super Bowl is if it was to play the Chiefs in the AFC championship game.
A loss to the Jets this week would open the door for the Baltimore Ravens to potentially knock them down to the three-seed if they beat the Cleveland Browns next week and a Bills loss to the Patriots. Sportskeeda's NFL Playoff Predictor doesn't see that as a likely outcome as Week 17 approaches and the Bills still in the drivers seat to earn that spot.
Prediction: Bills 26 - Jets 17
Week 17 New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills fantasy picks
Davante Adams is currently on his best stretch of the 2024 fantasy football season so far. He has finished as the weekly WR18 or better in each of his past four games and has scored five touchdowns during that stretch. He has also exceeded 10 targets in all of them, making him a strong pick for Week 17 lineups.
He is joined by James Cook, who has already scored 16 touchdowns this year on his way to being ranked as the overall RB9 so far. He has also recorded at least 120 scrimmage yards in three of his past four games, so he is a solid target for this round of the fantasy playoffs.
