The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos will square off in Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season during the final slate of games. The Chiefs have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC for the NFL playoffs, but the Broncos still have some work to do. They control their destiny, with a victory punching their ticket to the postseason, but here's how the game could play out.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos prediction
The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowl rings. They have already clinched home-field advantage and a first-round bye, significantly improving their chances of doing so. Essentially, having nothing to play for this week, they will reportedly rest many of their key starters, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

This is good news for the Denver Broncos, as a win in Week 18 against the defending champions will clinch them a spot as an AFC wild-card team. They will have a much better chance of doing so against a Chiefs team starting many of their backups, but apparently, Sportskeeda's NFL Playoff Predictor doesn't believe that will be enough for them to earn the victory.
The fact that the Broncos are led by a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix likely contributes to this prediction, which would result in the Miami Dolphins sneaking into the playoffs if they were to earn a Week 18 victory against the New York Jets. This is what the predictor tool expects to happen, regardless of the Broncos being the team currently in control of the seventh seed entering Sunday's slate of games.
Prediction: Chiefs 29 - Broncos 25
Week 18 Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos fantasy picks
Bo Nix currently ranks as the overall QB9 during the 2024 fantasy football season in his rookie year with the Denver Broncos. He has been particularly productive recently, totaling eight touchdowns across his last three games. He is a much better pick for lineups this week than Carson Wentz, according to Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start tool.
He is joined by his top wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, who has clearly been the most consistent weapon in their offense this year. He currently ranks as the overall WR16 this season and has totaled four touchdowns across his previous five games. He is an excellent player to target for Week 18 lineups, especially against the Kansas City Chiefs' reserves on defense.
