Week 9 Fantasy Football IDP Rankings feat. Zaire Franklin, Budda Baker, Maxx Crosby

Week 9 of the 2024 fantasy football season has arrived and managers must now begin working on their starting lineups. Analyzing the recent performances and weekly matchups for all available players is one of the best ways to determine whom to start. This strategy can be applied to defensive players as well, which helped to produce the following IDP rankings for this week.

Week 9 IDP

#1 - Robert Spillane

Robert Spillane is having a breakout 2024 fantasy football season with the Las Vegas Raiders. He currently ranks as the overall LB2 this year and is among the best Week 9 options.

#2 - Zaire Franklin

Zaire Franklin got off to a slow start to the 2024 season but has boucned back in a big way for the Indianapolis Colts. He has finished among the top 15 linebackers in each of his past three games.

#3 - Roquan Smith

Roquan Smith is having a bit of a down year in fantasy football, but still ranks as the overall LB9 this season. He will look to get things rolling again in Week 9 and potentially get back to the top of the IDP rankings.

#4 - Bobby Wagner

Bobby Wagner has been one of the most consistently reliable defenders during his NFL career so far. Despite switching teams during the offseason, he still ranks as the LB10 in his new role.

#5 - Budda Baker

Budda Baker is the highest-ranked non-linebacker in the Week 9 IDP rankings. He is having a dominant fantasy football season as the top-ranked defensive back this year so far.

#6 - Lavonte David

Lavonte David has been a bit inconsistent during the 2024 season so far, but has ranked among the top 10 weekly linebackers three times. He will look to get another one in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

#7 - Ivan Pace Jr.

Ivan Pace Jr. missed two games with an injury this season but got things going in fantasy football in recent weeks. He has ranked among the top 10 linebackers in each of his past two games.

#8 - Brian Branch

Brian Branch has appeared in just six games this season, but has ranked among the top 10 fantasy football defensive backs in five of them. His 38 total tackles and four interceptions have contributed to his overall DB6 ranking.

#9 - Germaine Pratt

Germaine Pratt has been consistently reliable this season, despite sharing the field with Logan Wilson for the Cincinnati Bengals. Pratt has ranked among the top 20 weekly linebackers in five of his eight games so far.

#10 - Nick Bolton

Nick Bolton has been on a recent hot streak in fantasy football, finishing among the top 20 weekly linebackers in three of his past five games. He has emerged as the top tackler for the Chiefs' elite defense this season.

#11 - Nakobe Dean

Nakobe Dean has finished among the top 10 linebackers in each of his past two games for the Philadelphia Eagles. This has helped him to climb all the way up to LB13 this season so far.

#12 - Kyle Hamilton

Kyle Hamilton has set season-highs in tackles in each of his past two games for the Baltimore Ravens. He has also finished among the top six weekly defensive backs in both of them and now ranks as the DB4 overall.

#13 - Maxx Crosby

Maxx Crosby leads the entire NFL in pressure rate, which gives him plenty of opportunities to record sacks. He is now up to 6.5 sacks across his first seven games, making him the best defensive lineman to target in Week 9 fantasy football.

#14 - Nick Cross

Nick Cross has been incredibly consistent during the 2024 season so far, ranking among the top 25 defensive backs in all eight weeks. He currently ranks as the overall DB2 in total fantasy scoring.

#15 - Julian Love

Julian Love has ranked among the top 20 defensive backs in three of his past four games and five total times this season. He is well on his way to a second consecutive season ranked among the top eight overall fantasy football defensive backs.
