Former Indianapolis Colts stars Andrew Luck is one of the NFL's biggest 'What-Ifs' of the 21st century. The quarterback was expected to be Hall of Famer Peyton Manning's replacement and lived up to the hype in his debut season in 2012, leading the Colts to a 11-5 record and setting the league record for most passing yards by a rookie with 4,374.

Luck was indeed an elite quarterback for the first three seasons of his career. However, a lacareted kidney ended his 2015 campaign after only seven games. He returned in 2016 and had another tremendous year but missed the entire 2017 season with a lingering shoulder injury he had initially suffered in 2015.

Luck had the second-most prolific campaign of his career in 2018, earning a Pro Bowl nod for the fourth time. He also won the Comeback Player of the Year award.

On the field, he played with an indomitable spirit. However, behind the scenes, the injuries took a significant toll on him both physically and mentally. After suffering a high ankle sprain in a preseason game in 2019, the quarterback had enough and announced his retirement.

Luck was prolific in the regular season, but his playoff performances were a mix of highs and lows. Here's a look at his playoff record and stats:

Andrew Luck playoff record and stats

Andrew Luck finished his career with a 4-4 record in the playoffs. In those eight games, he completed 56.4% of his pass attempts for 2,254 yards, 12 touchdown, 13 interceptions, 188 rushing yards on 30 carries and one rushing touchdown.

He made his playoff debut against defending Super Bowl champions Baltimore Ravens in 2012. The Colts star finished the game with 288 passing yards and one interception in a 24-9 loss for the Colts.

The following year, Luck earned his first playoff win with a 45-44 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the third-highest scoring game in postseason history. He threw for 443 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions and rushed seven times for 45 yards and a touchdown.

The following week, the Colts battled Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in the divisional round. The sophomore star had one of his worst playoff outings, completing only 20 of his 41 pass attempts for 331 yards and two touchdowns but throwing four interceptions to the Patriots' defense in a 43-22 loss.

The following year, Luck led the Colts to comfortable wins over the Cincinnati Bengals in the wildcard round and Peyton Manning and the Broncos in the divisional round, setting up a rematch against Brady and the Patriots for a spot in the Super Bowl.

On that cold night in Massachusetts, Luck had his worst playoff game. He threw the ball 33 times, completing only 12 passes for 126 yards and two interceptions in a 45-7 loss. Despite being the Colts star's worst playoff performance, the game is remembered for the birth of the infamous Deflategate saga.

Luck's final two playoff appearances came in the 2018 season. A 21-7 win over the Houston Texans was followed by a a 31-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Patrick Mahomes' playoff debut. Unbeknownst to anyone at the time, it was the Colts star's swansong.

While Luck's overall numbers aren't impressive, it's worth noting that he played his final game when he was 28. He retired in the prime years of his career, leaving fans to ponder how different the NFL landscape would be had he not hung up his cleats.
