New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has been in the NFL for 11 years. Despite his good regular-season stats, his postseason performance presents a more complex story.

Carr had to wait until his third season in the league before he achieved his first winning season after being selected by the Las Vegas Raiders as the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Carr helped the Raiders to a 12-4 record in 2016, which allowed the team to earn a postseason berth for the first time since 2002. However, it was determined that the star quarterback would be out for weeks after suffering a fibula fracture in Week 16.

Connor Cook started for Las Vegas in the first round of the playoffs that year due to Carr's injury. Carr was reportedly going to make a comeback if the Raiders made it to Super Bowl LI, but their season ended when they were defeated 27–14 by the Houston Texans in the wild-card round.

What is Derek Carr's playoff record?

Derek Carr has only played in one playoff game in his career, and it ended in a loss, so his record in the postseason is 0-1.

After passing for 4,804 yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 picks in the 2021 season, Carr returned to the postseason with the Raiders in his eighth season in the league.

Carr threw for 310 yards and a score in his first and only career postseason start against the Cincinnati Bengals. He did, however, throw an interception that cost the Raiders too much, and Cincinnati won 26–19 in the wild-card round.

What is Derek Carr's overall record in the NFL?

On Feb. 14, 2023, Derek Carr was released by the Las Vegas Raiders after nine years of service with a 63-79 record. His 35,222 passing yards, 217 touchdowns, 4,958 attempts, 3,201 completions and 142 starts as a quarterback set franchise records before he left the team. He was selected for four Pro Bowls during his time there.

The 33-year-old QB signed a four-year, $150 million contract with the New Orleans Saints one month after departing Las Vegas. The Saints finished 9–8 and missed the playoffs in his first year with the team.

Derek Carr played in just 10 games for New Orleans this season, and the team finished 5-5 in those games. Overall, in his career, Carr has a 77-92 record.
