What is TOT in fantasy football?

In fantasy football, TOT stands for Total. This is frequently used in fantasy football to indicate the number of touchdowns a player has, irrespective of the touchdown scored by receiving, passing and rushing.

A quarterback can score touchdowns via passing and rushing. This is your dual threat quarterback who regularly runs the ball and is also an excellent passer. For example, Jalen Hurts.

Quarterbacks like Jalen Hurts who are very versatile with their arms and their legs score a lot of touchdowns via passing and rushing. In such cases, TOT is used to represent the total number of touchdowns scored by the quarterbacks through passing and rushing.

In the case of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, the way they score touchdowns are usually receiving and rushing.

If it’s a rushing touchdown, it’s represented with Ru TD, similarly Re TD and Pa TD for receiving touchdown and passing touchdown, respectively.

However in the browsers and the fantasy football apps, there might not be enough place to fit in all the statistics.

Hence the fantasy football sites use TOT to represent the total number of touchdowns the player has scored either though rushing or receiving or via passing.

When the fantasy manager wants to get an in-depth view into the touchdown stats instead of just TOT, they can usually click the TOT which will expand to show the number of touchdowns scored by the player via passing, rushing and receiving.

This is very helpful for the fantasy football managers since most of them use the app to analyze the performance of their players and set their lineups depending on the matchups.

The TOT stat is a very interesting one. A lot of managers closely observe this to strategize and plan to improve their team’s TOT. This is something that will come in handy during trade deadlines and waivers since it indicates the player’s direct impact on the game.
