The Houston Texans placed Brevin Jordan on injured reserve. As per reports, the tight end has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for the rest of the season.

This is a blow for the Texans, who are Super Bowl contenders this season. Jordan, a fith-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, had 17 receptions for 219 yards and two touchdowns last season. This year, in two games, he had two receptions for seven yards on three targets.

The Texans have one of the best offenses in the league, but Jordan will be missed. The defending AFC South champions, who have started the season 2-0, face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3.

With Brevin Jordan ruled out for the rest of the season, the Houston Texans will have to rely on Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover for the rest of the campaign. The team is expected to add another tight end to their roster in the coming days.

The Texans' offense is averaging 24.0 points and 391.0 yards per game this season. Schultz, the starting tight end for the Texans, has five receptions for 37 yards this season.

Based on the two games so far, it's evident that C.J. Stroud will heavily rely on Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins and Tank Dell when it comes to the passing game. Collins leads the league in receiving yards, with 252.

However, injuries to Brevin Jordan and Joe Mixon are a blow, and the team will hope that the running back doesn't miss much time. The Texans will go against a tough Vikings defense in Week 3, and it will be their toughest test of the season so far. It will be interesting to see if Stroud continues to impress and takes a big step towards cementing his place among the top MVP candidates.

As for Jordan, he will be likely ready to play in Week 1 next year. The 24-year-old tight end will be a free agent after this season.
