As if their season couldn't get any worse, the Dallas Cowboys lost star quarterback Dak Prescott for the rest of Week 9's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Sideline reporter Pam Oliver said that the quarterback suffered a hamstring injury, leading to the end of his day at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
"Dak Prescott's day is done. The quarterback has a hamstring injury and will not return. Saw him staring into space, overall unhappy day all the way around," Oliver said in the broadcast.
If that wasn't enough, cameras spotted Prescott's swollen hand getting checked by team personnel on the sideline.

A video shared by former NFL team David J. Chao shows the moment Prescott injured his hamstring while throwing a pass.
He left the game having completed 18 of 24 pass attempts, racking up 133 yards and one passing touchdown. He was sacked three times by the Falcons defense before leaving the game early in the fourth quarter.
Update: Dak Prescott's injury status was revealed on Monday, post Cowboys game vs Falcons and the quarterback is expected to be out for multiple weeks, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport. As things get worse in Dallas, Cooper Rush is supposed to fill in for Prescott.
Cowboys succumbed to Falcons after Dak Prescott went down with an injury
The Dallas Prescott faced the rest of the fourth quarter without their star quarterback and Cooper Rush taking over the veteran. Rush tried to pull off the miracle and completed 13 of 25 pass attempts for 115 yards and a passing touchdown. They completed the two-point conversion and cut the lead to six points.
Unfortunately, they weren't able to do much with 1:48 left on the clock. The Falcons secured the win, improving to 6-3 and taking a two-game advantage over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Cowboys dropped to 3-5, ranking third in the NFC East division behind the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
Prescott hasn't been the best version of himself. While he's thrown for 1,845 yards, he's tied at 13th with 10 passing touchdowns but has also been intercepted eight times. The Cowboys have lost three consecutive games after being dominated by the Detroit Lions and losing two straight games by six points (30-24 against the San Francisco 49ers and 27-21 against the Falcons).
This week will be important for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. He's not dealing with one but two injuries that could drastically change the outcome of their season. After signing a new deal that pays him $60 million per season, Prescott and the Cowboys have struggled and they don't look like a playoffs team after nine weeks.
