Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals ended the 2024 regular season with five wins on the trot, but that wasn't enough to earn them a postseason berth. They finished with a 9-8 record, one game off the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos, who will start the playoffs as the sixth and seventh seeds in the AFC.

It was the second straight year Burrow and the Bengals failed to make it to the postseason. The quarterback's absence from the playoffs is a massive relief for the teams competing in it but a huge loss for the fans, as he usually brings his A-game in do-or-die duels.

Despite making it to the playoffs only twice in his career, the 28-year-old has already compiled an impressive resume.

Joe Burrow playoff record and stats

Joe Burrow is an impressive 5-2 in the playoffs and has thrown for 1,826 passing yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions. He also has 26 rush attempts for 101 yards and one touchdown.

He made his playoff debut against the Las Vegas Raiders in the wild-card round of the 2021 playoffs. He finished the game with 244 passing yards and touchdown passes in a narrow 26-19 win. In the divisional round against the Tennessee Titans, the quarterback had his prolific game as a passer. He completed 28 of his 37 pass attempts for 348 yards, leading Cincinnati to a 19-16 win.

Burrow's next playoff outing turned him into a household name. In the AFC championship game against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, he threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Bengals pull off an upset win over the reigning champions.

In the Super Bowl against the LA Rams, Joe Burrow had another terrific outing. He completed 22 of his 33 pass attempts for 263 yards and one touchdown. He had the chance to embark on a game-winning drive, but Aaron Donald ended the contest with a sack on 4th-and-1, denying the Bengals their first Super Bowl win.

The following year, Burrow was keen on going one step further than he did in the previous campaign. He started the playoff tremendously, as he threw for 209 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another in a 24-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

In the divisional round, the Bengals faced the daunting task of battling Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in a snowclad game at Highmark Stadium. However, neither the weather nor the Bills' defense fazed Joe Burrow.

He finished the game with 242 passing yards, a playoff career-high 31 rushing yards, two passing and one rushing touchdown in a 27-10 blowout win that set up an AFC championship game rematch against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Bengals had faith that they could pull off the upset for the second year running. However, their superstar quarterback picked an inopportune time to have his worst playoff outing. He completed only 26 of his 41 pass attempts for 270 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in a narrow 23-20 loss to Kansas City.

That gut-wrenching defeat was Joe Burrow's last appearance in the playoffs. He'll have to patiently wait for another year to get an opportunity to lead Cincinnati to the promised land.
