What is Josh Gordon's net worth? XFL contract, salary, and career earnings for the Seattle Sea Dragons wide receiver

Wide receiver Josh Gordon is worth an estimated $3 million. Gordon has earned this money through a fruitful yet, at times, frustrating professional football career. The Baylor University alum was one of the standout prospects coming into the 2012 NFL Supplementary Draft, but he dropped to the second round due to character issues.

He was eventually drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second draft round and signed to a four-year, $5.3 million deal. Gordon turned out to be quite the bargain, as he became one of the most electric wide receivers in the NFL. He became a first-team All-Pro selection in his second season and was the NFL receiving yards leader for 2013.

However, since that incredible 2013, Gordon's career has been on a downward spiral. He has played for four other NFL teams: the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and Tennessee Titans. He won a Super Bowl with the Patriots, even though off-field issues prevented him from partaking in Super Bowl LIII. Following a brief stint with the Tennessee Titans, Gordon signed with the Seattle Sea Dragons to get his ailing career back on track.

How much is Josh Gordon earning in the 2023 XFL?

Josh Gordon is a marquee player for the Seattle Sea Dragons, and it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that he's the best player on paper in the XFL. One would think Gordon would be earning the bulk of his team's cap, but that's not how the XFL works. Instead, the XFL pays all active players the same amount, with the only difference being how far a team goes in the season.

Hence, Josh Gordon will earn the standard $5,000 weekly with a $1,000 bonus per win. This package will include other potential rewards available to active players on their team rosters. When you add the possible bonuses, each player could earn approximately $60,000 for the season. Furthermore, the XFL possesses a welfare package worth $20,000, plus housing and two meals a day during the season.

Certain quarterbacks are the only players likely to earn more than the above-regulated fee. These QBs are reportedly making upwards of $100,000 for the regular season. Even though it's not as high as the $500,000 salary given to some in 2020.

Josh Gordon's NFL stats

Josh Gordon appeared for five NFL franchises throughout a stopgap NFL career. His first team was the Cleveland Browns, which drafted him in the second round of the 2012 Supplementary Draft. Gordon was electrifying for the Browns and still holds a handful of franchise records. He has records like most receptions in a game with 14, most receiving yards in a game with 261 yards, most receiving yards in a season with 1,646 yards, most receiving yards per game with 117.6, and most 100+ receiving yard games in a season with seven. He achieved all the feats mentioned above in his career-defining 2013 season. Gordon stayed with the Browns until he was traded to the New England Patriots in 2018.

After leaving Cleveland, Gordon's career was always different. Sure, he won his only Super Bowl to date with the New England Patriots in 2018, but he was not a key contributor. He stuck around the league until last year, when he was released by the Titans on October 17, 2022.

He put up a solid but unspectacular NFL stat line of 252 catches off 478 targets, 4,284 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns in 77 career games.
