Kyler Murray is out for the season; it finally happened, and with that goes any playoff chance that the Arizona Cardinals clung to. Murray has carried a variety of injuries all season, braving each of them and finding ways to contribute week in and week out.
However, in the Cardinals' week 14 game against the New England Patriots, Murray tore his ACL, ruling him out for the rest of the season. The Cardinals are currently 4-9, and their postseason hopes are dashed.
Furthermore, they won't finish the season with a winning record, which must suck, considering their hopes heading into the season. So what should fantasy football team owners do now that Murray is confirmed out for the season? Is there any silver lining to this grim situation? Read on to find out.

What should Kyler Murray's team managers do?
The first thing Kyler Murray's team managers should do is stash the pocket-threat QB on the fantasy IR (Injury Reserve). It is the most logical thing to do, as they could put him back on the team when he is back at any point. That works better than releasing him to be claimed in the waiver wire.
After stashing Murray in the Injury Reserve, you can sign a player like Baker Mayfield off the waiver wire, thus giving you a decent shot caller to close out the season with.
However, the above option is only open for fantasy managers playing in a league with Injury Reserve spots. If your league does not offer an Injury Reserve spot, the first thing you should do is not renew the team for the league next season. IR spots should be a given since football is a dicey and unpredictable game.
Kyler Murray's Fantasy Outlook
Kyler Murray was one of the most productive QBs in last year's fantasy league. The Arizona Cardinals' shot caller was coming off two straight Pro Bowl-caliber seasons at the start of the 2022 season. No wonder he demanded to get paid, and the Cardinals did just that. So it might be disappointing to the Cardinals and the 95% of fantasy managers who rostered him that he regressed this season.
Unfortunately, for every Murray fan, he left Week 14's contest against the Patriots early with an injury and did not return. An MRI scan confirmed the ACL tear, and Murray is out for the season.
How has Kyler Murray performed this season?
Kyler Murray entered this season with a chip on his shoulder and unrealistic expectations. He just got paid, and the Cardinals' front office has stacked his offense with many weapons. Unfortunately, he didn't take the jump-up analysts expected, and his season has been cut off unceremoniously.
Murray has put up a stat line of 2,368 passing yards, 17 total touchdowns, and seven picks. The stat line looks decent, but it's not one that you would expect from a top-five paid QB in the NFL.
