Not only did the Commanders advance to 6-2 and take the NFC East division lead, but their win could also be a precursor to the 2024 Presidential Election results.

The result of the last home game for the Commanders before election day could predict the winner of the Presidential race.

Sunday's game was the last home game before the presidential election on November 5, 2024.

When Washington wins at home before the election, the candidate from the incumbent President's party wins. If Washington loses, then the opposing candidate would win the election.

The Redskins Rule stood firm from 1940 until 2000. Since 2004, though, the theory has been tested.

In 2004, the incumbent, President George W. Bush, won re-election, as did President Barack Obama in 2012, which went against Washington's success in the home game before the election. In 2008, 2016 and 2020, the Redskins Rule did prove to be true.
