Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp was spotted with a cast on after hurting his ankle, and it looks like he's started the rehabilitation process to get better.

While Kupp won't play in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears, head coach Sean McVay gave a quick update on the star receiver on Monday, saying that Kupp is "attacking every single day.”

Kupp sprained his left ankle in Week 2, but it has been reported that the injury isn't season-ending and won't require surgery. Additionally, the organization decided against placing the veteran on injured reserve, and there's very little chance he'll be placed on the list absent a major setback.

There is still no timeline for Kupp's return, according to McVay, who said last week that he doesn't want to place undue pressure or expectations on him. However, we can make some assumptions based on recent events.

According to The Athletic on Wednesday, Kupp is no longer wearing his cast and was working with the strength and conditioning staff outside of the Rams' walkthrough session. This suggests that the receiver is making good progress with his recovery.

The Rams will want to be careful with their receiver and it feels likely that Kupp is aiming for a Week 7 return when the Rams take on the Las Vegas Raiders. This fits with the team's choice to keep him off the injured reserve list. Kupp will likely return after missing three games as the Rams have a bye week in Week 6.

The Rams' wide receivers in Week 4 against the Bears will be Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson and Tutu Atwell due to the absences of Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp.

Cooper Kupp injury update: What happened to the Rams' WR?

Cooper Kupp twisted his left ankle after he was tackled in a Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals. After the injury, he was assisted off the field, but he eventually made his way to the locker room on his own, although with an obvious limp.

Kupp exited the locker room after the game while sporting a walking boot on his left leg.

The team decided against placing Kupp on injured reserve since they were unsure if he would miss up to four games, despite coach Sean McVay's initial prediction that he would miss an extended time due to the injury.

Due to the injury, Kupp has already missed one game this season, against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3, and it is officially announced that he will miss the next game, against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.

Cooper Kupp has now missed multiple games due to injuries for the third straight season. He suffered a strained hamstring in 2023, which caused him to miss the first four games of the season. He was also limited to playing in just nine games in 2022 due to a sprained ankle.
