In the divisional round, they played against the Atlanta Falcons and defeated them 15-10. They advanced to the NFC Championship game against the Minnesota Vikings, who also had a 13-3 record in the 2017 regular season. The Eagles easily won 38-7, thus making it to the Super Bowl for the third time.
They faced the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. The Eagles prevented the Patriots from winning back-to-back Super Bowls with a 41-33 victory at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. In the process, the Eagles won their first Super Bowl in NFL history.

Since their formation, the Eagles have appeared in the playoffs 29 times, won 16 division titles (12 in the NFC East), and played in four pre-merger NFL Championship Games, winning three of them (1948, 1949, and 1960). The Eagles have made three Super Bowl appearances, winning Super Bowl LII at the end of the 2017 season.
The Eagles made their first Super Bowl XV appearance in 1981. They faced the Los Angeles Raiders and suffered a 27-10 loss in that game. 24 years later, in 2005, the Eagles and the New England Patriots played in Super Bowl XXXIX. The Patriots won the game 24-21.
Thirteen years later, in Super Bowl LII, the Eagles made their third appearance, once again facing the Patriots. Philadelphia avenged their previous Super Bowl defeat and won the game 41-33.
