Rob Gronkowski is one of the most physically gifted players to ever play in the NFL. WWE superstar Jinder Mahal learned not to rile up at the former New England Patriots star. The four-time Super Bowl-winning tight end made an appearance at WrestleMania 33 and was seated in the front row.

Mahal took it upon himself to throw a beverage at Gronkowski, which proved unwise. During the Andre the Giant Battle Royal Memorial, the former NFL star decided to get into the ring and exact some revenge on Mahal.

When Mahal, a former WWE Champion, was in the corner, the tight end got into a stance and clotheslined him off his feet.

Rob Gronkowski's friend, WWE superstar Mojo Rawley, would eliminate Mahal and win the battle royal match. Rawley, whose real name is Dean Muhtadi, was on the podcast "The Session with Renee Paquette" explaining how Gronkowski's appearance came together.

Muhtadi said:

"I know Rob, so I saw Rob's face when it happened, and I was like, he has no idea what to do right now. That is his legitimate, confused shocked face. Not trying to sell, like he is kind of panicking right now because he can't pivot. We're trained to pivot.
"I'm on the ground covering my face, I'm like, 'Aye, part of the show. Part of the show, let him go. Part of the show. He's good. I remember Tony, the other security guard runs up and he sees this and he's just like, 'What the f*ck'. Screaming out, I was dying. I was trying so hard not to let anyone see my face."

With all of the awards he has won in his career, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player added a WWE title to his resume.

Rob Gronkowski and his WWE Title reign

During WrestleMania 36 in April 2020, Gronkowski won the 24/7 championship by beating his best friend Rawley. The tight end's reign as champion lasted 58 days after losing the title to WWE superstar R-Truth.

WWE aired a segment on a June 2020 episode of Monday Night Raw with Gronkowski in Foxborough, Massachusetts, in his backyard.

Yet, R-Truth got the jump on the former Patriots star as R-Truth was dressed as a landscaper.

He eventually pinned Rob Gronkowski to win the title in the backyard. Nonetheless, the future Pro Football Hall of Famer has another career lined up for sure.
