Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is a tank on the field, protecting the Chiefs offense, but outside of the field has a fun-loving persona. This side of Kelce is visible during his celebrations, parties, and even interviews. So, when Kelce was invited by Dan Patrick in January 2019 for an interview, it was candid, and Kelce was brutally honest with his answers.
Patrick didn’t hesitate to introduce Kelce, mentioning the show "Catching Kelce," which later became a starting point of the discussion. Kelce couldn’t hold back his smile over the introduction as he started disclosing major details about his love life.
But the Chiefs TE was fresh off an AFC Championship match loss against the New England Patriots, leading Patrick to make Kelce choose between an engagement ring and a Super Bowl ring.

“Right now, I'm looking at that Super Bowl ring.” Kelce replied without hesitance.
Travis Kelce reveals the new love of his life
Kelce was caught up in mixed emotions during the moment. Although he was excited to have found love, he was equally disappointed at his team’s loss. The Chiefs had a great run in the 2018-19 season courtesy of their newly drafted QB, Patrick Mahomes. They reached the playoffs with a 12-4 record, but their run came to a halt against Tom Brady’s Patriots.
Patrick then candidly asked Kelce about the women he dated from the show, to which he replied jokingly,
“During the show or on the show,” Kelce said. “So far, just one.”
He was referring to his former girlfriend, Maya Benberry, the winner of the show. But by 2017, they were over, and Kelce had Kayla Nicole in his life. Nicole is a social media influencer and a sports journalist who worked for the NBA and NFL. The couple started dating in 2017.
“I am in love. I have found love. Yes, love has found me,” he said.
Travis Kelce shouts out Instagram for help
According to Kelce, he met her over Instagram. Kelce then proceeded to applaud the social media giant for helping him connect with Nicole.
“I'm not gonna lie. I found her on Instagram. She sent me a DM (direct message) and it's been heaven ever since. Yeah Instagram… Shout-out the Instagram,” Kelce said.
A few years ago, as per TMZ’s report, Nicole revealed through her Instagram stories that it was Kelce who approached her indirectly by constantly liking her pictures but didn’t message her. So, she took the initiative by sending him a DM. The couple had a rocky relationship, breaking up multiple times before eventually ending their relationship in 2023.
