The Tennessee Titans released the renderings of their proposed new stadium in October 2022. The franchise is set to join the list of teams in the NFL moving to a new state-of-the-art stadium in the near future, with a relocation planned for 2026.
The new stadium project, which will stand on 1.7 million square feet of land, has been discussed with the Metro Council and Nashville Sports Authority in the last couple of months. In essence, when is the stadium plan set to get its final approval from the council?

Details of new Titans Stadium
The construction of the stadium is estimated to cost $2.1 billion and will involve the demolition of the Nissan Stadium once it is completed. The Nissan Stadium opened in 1999 and has been home to the Tennessee Titans since then.
Manica Architecture, the Kansas-based architectural firm behind the design of Allegiant Stadium, NRG Stadium, and Wembley Stadium, planned the new 60,000-seat stadium, which is planned to be built adjacent to Nissan Stadium.
The new stadium is expected to instill a sense of pride and elevate the reputation of Nashville and Tennessee Titans. President and CEO Burke Nihill stated that:
"We envision a potential new stadium that makes our community proud and enhances the reputation of our great city and state."
Nihill further explained that the stadium is designed to be multi-purpose, ensuring it can host a number of events in a given period and serve the state for a long period of time:
We're focused on designing a stadium capable of hosting a prestigious international event on a Sunday and a steady flow of impactful community programming later that same week. This is a building that would serve Nashville and Tennessee for generations.
When will the plan receive its final approval?
The Metro Nashville Sports Authority unanimously approved the final documents for the new stadium facility on Tuesday. This brings the Tennessee Titans one step closer to making the new stadium plans a reality in the coming future.
Even though the Sports Authority's approval is required, it doesn't mark the end of the approval process. The final approval must still be granted by the Metro Nashville City Council, and their third and final vote on the matter is scheduled for April 18th.
Despite much resistance from some members of the Metro government and citizens who are against using huge taxpayer funds for the project, it seems that there isn't enough opposition among council members to block the proposal's progress.
