Nico Collins picked up a hamstring injury in the Houston Texans' Week 5 win over the Buffalo Bills. The wideout was then placed on the injured reserve list on Oct. 9, and fans have since been curious to learn when Collins will return to action.

Since Nico Collins was placed on the IR list, he was guaranteed to miss at least four games for the Texans. Thus, the earliest he can return is by Week 10, when Houston hosts the Detroit Lions on Nov. 10.

Collins has already sat out the Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots and the Week 7 game against the Green Bay Packers. He will also miss the Texans' Week 8 clash against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday and the Week 9 contest against the New York Jets on Oct. 31.

Collins suffered a problem with his right hamstring in the first quarter of Houston's Week 5 game against the Bills. The receiver appeared to pick up the issue after he caught a 67-yard touchdown pass from quarterback CJ Stroud. He exited the game after posting two catches for 78 yards and a touchdown, and the Texans ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

As per reports, Houston initially expected Collins' injury to be a short-term issue. It was expected that the player would be day-to-day ahead of Houston's Week 6 game against the New England Patriots, but Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Collins would be week-to-week.

"It takes a couple of weeks for a hamstring," Ryans said when discussing Collins' injury ahead of the matchup against the Patriots in Week 6.

Shortly after Ryans' comments, Houston placed Collins on injured reserve.

Earlier this week, reports claimed that Collins has not faced any setbacks in his recovery. If all continues to go well, the player should be included back into the Texans' active squad ahead of the matchup against the Lions in Week 10.

Before his injury, Collins racked up 567 yards on 32 receptions and caught three touchdowns this season.
