The Las Vegas Raiders finished the 2023 NFL season with an 8-9 record, missing out on a postseason trip once more. They did, however, consistently show that they are a squad with potential for success in the future, one that is on the verge of becoming competitive but still needs some tweaks to make the necessary progress and make it to the postseason.

The Raiders are at a critical point in their development as they get ready for the new season. The team is currently preparing to receive its players back for training camp at their facility.

When does the Las Vegas Raiders' training camp start?

The Las Vegas Raiders are scheduled to start training camp next month, but for now, they are still enjoying a vacation between the conclusion of their offseason program and the start of the 2024 camp.

The team's rookies and undrafted free agents are expected to return on July 21 after summer vacation, while the veterans will report on July 23. Therefore, July 24 will be the Raiders' first training camp session in its entirety.

There are currently no plans for Las Vegas to practice together with any other NFL teams.

The Raiders will have a new venue this season after reaching an agreement to host training camp in Orange County, California. They will do their training camp practices at Costa Mesa, California's Jack Hammett Sports Complex, in 2024. This will also be the first time they will be holding their training camp in California since they moved to Las Vegas in 2020.

Everyone will be watching the Raiders to see how their quarterback situation develops during training camp. The starting quarterback competition between Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew will be a primary focal point ahead of the new season.

What should be the Raiders' expectations for next season?

The Raiders have had a good offseason so far, adding players who suit their desired track for the team. It's safe to say that the franchise has the talent to contend for a postseason berth in 2024.

The Kansas City Chiefs have won the AFC West title for the past eight seasons, but if there's any team that can stop them in 2024, it's perhaps the Las Vegas Raiders. However, they will need a strong season from whoever starts at quarterback — Gardner Minshew or Aidan O'Connell — for that to happen.

It is possible, even if it is maybe too ambitious, for the Raiders to win their division for the first time in more than 20 years this season. But if that doesn't happen, the squad should ultimately continue to aim for a postseason berth.
