Ben Johnson is the Chicago Bears' new coach, and in a coaching job market with salaries inflating every year, the price for them continues to increase. The best in the business are still at the top, but the first-time coach's salary beats most of the veteran coaches.

Per Pro Football Talk via NBC10. Johnson will be paid $13 million per season on his new deal. According to data compiled by Front Office Sports via Sportico and Pro Football Reference, Johnson's reported salary would rank him seventh in annual pay in the entire NFL.

Andy Reid's $20 million salary is the highest with Matt LaFleur, Nick Sirianni, Zac Taylor, Dan Quinn and Mike McCarthy earning less than the rookie coach.

Johnson's salary is one more reason for the Bears to expect results from him. Largely considered the top name on the market, the competition for Johnson was fierce with multiple teams clamoring for him. Of course, there are plenty of monkeys he has been tasked to get off the team's back.

Ending the Green Bay Packers' dominant rule over the team, overcoming the 14-win Vikings and reeling in the No. 1 seed Detroit Lions are just three stretch goals for the team.

Johnson's first task is to milk every ounce of winning ability out of Caleb Williams.

Based on Front Office Sports, Pro Football Reference and Sporticos' numbers, the Bears' new coach will make more than Dan Campbell. Ben Johnson will also make as much as DeAndre Hopkins, to put his salary in perspective. The AFC West and the NFC West have multiple coaches ranked in the top 10 highest paid in the league.

The AFC West has three of the four most expensive coaches in the NFL, with the NFC North having two of the top 10. Andy Reid's Kansas City Chiefs pay him more than any other team pays their coach.

  • Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs: $20 million
  • Sean Payton, Denver Broncos: $18 million
  • Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh Steelers: $16 million
  • Jim Harbaugh, Los Angeles Chargers: $16 million
  • Sean McVay, Los Angeles Rams: $15 million
  • Kyle Shanahan, San Francisco 49ers: $14 million
  • Ben Johnson, Chicago Bears: $13 million
  • John Harbaugh, Baltimore Ravens: $12 million
  • Dan Campbell, Detroit Lions: $11 million
  • Sean McDermott, Buffalo Bills: $11 million

Will Johnson pull off the feat Campbell managed to do with the Detroit Lions? If not, his place in the top 10 could be in danger of taking a hit considering his high price tag.
