He had standout moments, leading Auburn to victories against LSU and #10 Ole Miss. However, he also faced challenges and was benched in the fourth quarter of a game against Georgia State, with T.J. Finley taking over. Unfortunately, Nix's season came to an end due to a season-ending injury during a game against Mississippi State. Despite the challenges, Nix still managed to throw for 11 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions in 2021.After transferring to the University of Oregon in 2022, Nix's production trajectory skyrocketed as he passed more than 3,500 yards in his first season as a Duck while throwing for 29 touchdowns. However, his career year came in 2023, when he put up historic numbers across the board which saw him finish 3rd in Heisman voting. He led the NCAA in various categories like pass completions, passing touchdowns, and completion percentage while guiding the Oregon Ducks to a 12-2 record.
