Cedarian DeLeon Lamb, who is mostly known as just ‘Ceedee Lamb’ is an American football player who plays wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. Lamb is a well rounded player whose impressive skills are seen not just in catching difficult balls but even while making plays after the catch. He is difficult to bring down post receptions as he can break tackles at will and easily extend the plays as much as even 10 yards.

In spite of Lamb not being the quickest on the field, he has excellent quality when it comes to finding separation and getting into open spaces. Another advantage he possesses is his ability to be in the best possible position during the time of the catch making it easier for him to haul in the passes. The one thing Ceedee really needs to work on is adding a bit more muscle. A little bit more strength could help him take his game up a notch higher.

Ceedee Lamb was born on April 8, 1999, in the city of Opelousas in Louisiana. He lived in New Orleans for most of his childhood life until 2005 when Hurricane Katrina forced him to evacuate to Houston. For his high school education, Lamb enrolled at John and Randolph Foster High School in Richmond, Texas. He became a part of their football team and played really well. His hometown is New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was boughtup and grew up. He attended the Oklahoma Sooners football team on a regular basis. He caught several passes from then-Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield, which incidentally went a long way in helping Mayfield win the Heisman Trophy that year. As a matter of fact, Lamb’s 807 receiving yards was the school's freshman record.

As he had done in high school, Lamb once again doubled his output in terms of receiving yards in his sophomore year of college. This time he was again instrumental in helping Kyler Murray win his Heisman Trophy award. Lamb’s junior year was very similar in terms of the stats he put up in the previous year, thus maintaining a nice three-year run at Oklahoma. He played his junior year with none other than Jalen Hurts who himself finished second in the 2019 Heisman voting.

By the end of his junior year, Lamb had decided to enter the 2020 NFL draft. He was generally being viewed as the top two in that year’s wide receiving class and was selected by the Cowboys as the third wide receiver off the board with pick number 17.

Ceedee Lamb in the NFL

In the three years that Lamb has played for the Cowboys, his consistency has been a major part of his game. His rookie year saw him just miss the 1,000-yard receiving mark, yet for the next two years, he steadily increased his production. At times the Cowboys have also used him as a running back and he has for the most part done a quality job averaging over 7 yards per carry over three seasons.

In 2020, his rookie year, he finished second in rookies only behind Justin Jefferson for the most receiving yards. Lamb’s strong performances and consistency has earned him the tag of the Cowboys' go-to guy meaning he has become the team’s WR1. This added responsibility should not derail the progress he has made till now and will be very fascinating to see what he does in the upcoming 2023 season.
