Jalen Ramsey, born on October 24, 1994, in Smyrna, Tennessee, is a professional football cornerback for the Miami Dolphins in the NFL. He played college football at Florida State, where he was a standout player before being selected fifth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Ramsey made an immediate impact with the Jaguars, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2017 and helping the team end a decade-long playoff drought. After a highly publicized dispute with the Jaguars' front office, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. In 2020, Ramsey signed a contract extension that made him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history at the time. Following his success with the Rams, including a Super Bowl victory, Ramsey was traded to the Dolphins in 2023, continuing his stellar NFL career.

The former first round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars was born on October 24, 1994 in Smyrna, Tennessee. His father, Lamont Ramsey is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and his mother is Margie Ramsey. Jalen also has an older brother Jamal who used to play various sports in his college years.

Playing alongside other kids older than him helped Jalen perfect his craft from his younger days. Jalen was one of those types of kids who always had fire in his belly and was equally good at trash talking. As his brother recalls, Jalen keeps on talking all the time, this is something that he carried over even today as a professional football player.

Ramsey was always told by his parents that he had to be the best at whatever he wanted to do. He had to work hard to achieve his dreams. His father, while working his job made sure he was there for his Jalen and he helped train him. As a matter of fact, Jalen’s father is still a big part of his training even to this day. Most importantly though, it is worth noting the amount of effort he has put in his game even as a small boy. By the time he reached high school training was a very important part of his day and in college he took to weight lifting to build his body. Being a member of the track team in college has been a big boost for him when playing football as well.

Jalen holds American Nationality. The lifelong Miami Hurricanes fan decided to join Florida State University to play football for the Seminoles team. The upside to this was that he got a chance to play and start for the team as a true freshman. He had his best year of college football during his sophomore season when he recorded a stunning stat sheet of 80 combined tackles, 3 sacks, 12 pass deflections, 2 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles.

With exceptional performances in all three seasons he was with the team, Jalen decided to forgo his senior year of college to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. Since that day, Jalen has cemented his place as one of the best to ever play the cornerback position and continues to dominate the world of football.
