Evidently, Saban's early life has played a pivotal role in forging a renowned career path. Hailing from Fairmont in West Virginia, Saban was born on October 31, 1951, and is of Croatian ancestry. He grew up in a nuclear family, with parents Mary and Nick Lou Saban Sr. and sister Dianna.
Nick Saban's Early Education and Career
Nick Saban graduated from Monongah High School in West Virginia. His early career began as a quarterback for West Virginia in 1968. Cut to 1971, he married Terry Constable from Kent State University in December.

It was his time as a defensive back for Kent State University that led him to Terry. Interestingly, he completed his master's in sports administration four years after marriage in 1975.
Saban's Coaching Career: Finding way to Alabama Football
Nick Saban worked his way up the coaching ladder gradually. His collegiate and professional roles led him to a coaching job with the University of Toledo for one season in 1989.
Nick Saban also spent four seasons as a defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns of the NFL under head coach Bill Belichick. He returned to the college game in 1995 as an HC for Michigan State University. He transitioned to Louisiana State University in 2000 leading them to a BCS Championship against the University of Oklahoma in 2003.
However, he took to another lesser-known stint in the NFL in 2005, this time as an HC for the Miami Dolphins. Saban's initial year was a success, followed by a disappointing 6-10 record in the 2006 season.
Saban decided to return to college football the next year joining the University of Alabama. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in guiding the Alabama Crimson Tide to six national championship victories.
Saban's emergence as a prominent figure in the sports arena reflects his tenacity and strength. His childhood was spent in a small community that yielded an accomplished coach from Virginia. Saban's confidence in his coaching ability and the Tide team remains a story in the making.
