Where is Zac Stacy now? Former NFL star sentenced for assaulting ex-girlfriend

San Diego Fleet v Memphis Express
Former NFL running back Zac Stacy

Former NFL running back Zac Stacy was sentenced to six months in jail and one year of probation in Orange County, Florida. This follows his guilty plea for attacking his ex-girlfriend at her home in 2021.

Stacy pleaded guilty earlier this month to two counts of criminal mischief. Battery charges were also dropped in his plea agreement.

Stacy was accused of violently attacking Kristin Evans, the mother of his son, on several occasions. The first of these attacks started in August 2021.

Evans noted in court documents that he physically assaulted her multiple times because he wanted the money back he gave her for our rent. Evans said:

"He punched my legs, slapped me, picked me up by my arms, and threw me into my window, which broke. I had glass in my feet that I removed myself."

In November 2021, Zac Stacy was seen on video striking Evans in the head and slamming her into a television with their infant son in the room at the time. WESH2 interviewed Evans days after Stacy attacked her on video. Evans said:

"He has bullied me for so long that, at one point, I believed it was my fault. It's disturbing and disgusting to see things people have said online about what did I do. I did nothing. I never did anything to deserve something like this – no one could do anything to deserve something like this."

Evans added:

"The physical abuse began in May [2021]. I didn't report it. I was pregnant at the time. I wanted my son's dad to be there for me and for the birth of his first child. So I forgave him."

Time will tell if there are any more developments regarding Zac Stacy and his charges. Before this, he did have a career in both the NFL and USFL.

Zac Stacy and his football journey prior to his heinous behavior

Zac Stacy was a fifth-round selection by the St. Louis Rams in the 2013 NFL draft out of Vanderbilt. He spent the first two seasons of his NFL career with the Rams before playing for the New York Jets in the 2015 season. The running back rushed for 1,355 yards and nine touchdowns in his 35 games in the league.

He came out of retirement to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in May 2018, appearing in just one preseason game for the team. He last played football in January 2019 in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football (AAF) for the Memphis Express.
