As we head into Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season, two playoff spots are still up for grabs. A berth apiece in the AFC and NFC is waiting to be clinched in the regular-season finale weekend.

Ahead of the Week 18 round of games, here's a look at the five teams still in contention for making the playoffs.

AFC teams in contention to reach the playoffs

#1. Denver Broncos

The Broncos (9-7) can guarantee a spot in the playoffs if they beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18. They also have a 22% chance of making the playoffs if they lose to the Chiefs, but it would depend on other results.

#2. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins (8-8) need a win against the New York Jets on Sunday to stay in contention for the playoffs. However, Miami will also need the Broncos to lose against the Chiefs to reach the postseason.

#3. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals (8-8) have a 6% chance of making the playoffs ahead of their regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Cincinnati must beat Pittsburgh to stay in the postseason hunt and hope that two other results go its way. The Jets need to beat the Dolphins and Kansas City needs a win over Denver for the Bengals to make the playoffs.

NFC teams in contention to reach the playoffs

#1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers (9-7) will book a place in the playoffs if they beat the New Orleans Saints in Week 18. A defeat against the Saints still gives Tampa Bay a 29% chance of making the postseason, depending on the results elsewhere in the NFC.

#2. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons (8-8) must win against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive. Atlanta can then only make the postseason if the Buccaneers lose against the Saints.
