Quarterbacks are often the highest-scoring position during each fantasy football season. This makes it extremely important for managers to get the right players in their drafts or they risk missing out on an optimized lineup. Here are the top seven quarterbacks to target during drafts for the 2024 fantasy football season.
Fantasy Football QB rankings

#7 - Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott has finished among the top 10 quarterbacks in fantasy football in six of his eight seasons so far, including a QB3 finish last year. In a similar situation with the Dallas Cowboys in 2024, he should be expected to turn in another strong performance.

#6 - Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray finished three consecutive seasons among the top 10 fantasy quarterbacks before being plagued by injuries in each of his past two years. He has the rare balance of dynamic rushing and elite passing that few players in his position possess, making him a strong option. The arrival of Marvin Harrison Jr. also improves his upside this year.
#5 - Anthony Richardson
Anthony Richardson finished as the weekly QB2 and QB4 in his only two games that he appeared in more than half of the snaps last season. This demonstrates his absolutely elite upside if he can find a way to stay healthy this year. In those two games, he rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns.
#4 - Jalen Hurts
Jalen Hurts had what was considered a down year by many around the NFL last season, but he still finished as the QB2 in fantasy football. His dominant rushing contributions make him one of the best quarterbacks to target, including 38 rushing touchdowns across the past three years.
#3 - Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson is arguably already the greatest rushing quarterback in NFL history. This has helped him tremendously in his three consecutive finishes among the top 10 fantasy quarterbacks. He has totaled more than 3,000 rushing yards during that stretch for the Baltimore Ravens.
#2 - Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes is the only quarterback in the top five that isn't necessarily considered an elite rusher. His ideal situation with the Kansas City Chiefs and dominant passing style have more than made up for it. He has finished among the top eight fantasy football quarterbacks in each of his six seasons as a starter.
#1 - Josh Allen
Josh Allen tops the fantasy football quarterback rankings this year, despite the Buffalo Bills moving on from Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Allen's unmatched combination of dominant rushing and elite passing have resulted in him finishing each of the past four season as the QB2 or better. Even if his passing numbers dip this year, his rushing will likely make up for it.
