Who is the best RB in Madden 25? Top 10 stars ranked

There's been a buzz around EA Sports' Madden 25 even before Friday's video game was released. There's also been intrigue around the highest-rated players in this year's edition, especially among the running backs.

Running backs are primarily judged on their strength, speed, and ability to navigate routes through opposition defense. As such, EA Sports has rated the league's running backs using these attributes for Madden 25.

#10. Isiah Pacheco, 87 overall

Isiah Pacheco is rated 87 overall in Madden 25. The running back has been with the Kansas City Chiefs since they selected him in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Interestingly, Pacheco has won Super Bowls with the Chiefs in each of his two big league seasons. He wants that trend to continue as Kansas City aims for a historic three-peat in the upcoming season.

#8 (Tie). Aaron Jones, 88 overall

Aaron Jones has an 88 overall rating in this year's Madden edition. The Green Bay Packers selected the running back in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft. This offseason, Jones signed with the Minnesota Vikings.

Jones was the rushing touchdowns co-leader in 2019. He also earned Pro Bowl honors in 2020.

#8 (Tie). Kenneth Walker III, 88 overall

EA Sports has added Kenneth Walker III to Madden 25. The Seattle Seahawks selected the running back in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Walker made an instant impression with the Seahawks posting 1,050 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in his first season, earning a PFWA All-Rookie Team spot.

#7. Josh Jacobs, 89 overall

Josh Jacobs is the seventh-highest-rated running back in Madden NFL 25 with an 89 overall rating. He was drafted in the first round by the then-Oakland Raiders in 2019 and played five seasons with the team while earning two Pro Bowl honors.

This offseason, Jacobs signed with the Packers.

#6. Travis Etienne Jr., 90 overall

Travis Etienne Jr. has established himself as one of the finest running backs in the league. The Jacksonville Jaguars star has a 90 overall rating in Madden 25.

Etienne has posted 1,000+ rushing yards in each of his past two seasons with the Jaguars. He is expected to play another vital role for the team in the 2024 season.

#5. Joe Mixon, 91 overall

Joe Mixon has a 91 overall rating in the latest Madden edition. The running back played eight seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and earned Pro Bowl honors in 2021.

Mixon signed with the Houston Texans this offseason.

#4. Saquon Barkley, 92 overall

Saquon Barkley has a 92 overall rating in Madden. The New York Giants drafted the running back with the No. 2 pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Barkley hit the ground running and was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

After earning two Pro Bowl honors in six seasons with New York, Barkley joined the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

#3. Derrick Henry, 94 overall

Derrick Henry has a 94 overall rating in Madden NFL 25. At 30, he is the oldest player on this list.

Henry played eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans while earning four Pro Bowl appearances. He was also named the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2020. This offseason, Henry signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

#2. Nick Chubb, 96 overall

Nick Chubb has a 96 overall rating in Madden 25. The Cleveland Browns running back has been with the team since they drafted him in 2018.

Chubb has earned four Pro Bowl honors in his career, and he is expected to play an integral role for the team in the 2024 season.

#1. Christian McCaffrey, 99 overall

Christian McCaffrey is the highest-rated running back in Madden 25. The San Francisco 49ers star has a 99 overall rating in the game.

The Carolina Panthers selected McCaffrey with the No.8 pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He was traded to the 49ers in Oct. 2022. McCaffrey is a three-time Pro Bowler, and he led the league in rushing yards last season en route to being named the Offensive Player of the Year.
