Jon's brothers, on the other hand, chose football as their preferred sport and reached the highest echelons.

Chandler Jones, Jon's younger brother, was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft. During the 2014 campaign, when the Patriots claimed the Super Bowl XLIX, he registered 43 tackles and six sacks.

Chandler joined the Arizona Cardinals in 2016 following a productive three-year tenure with the Patriots. He stayed in Arizona for six years before moving to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Chandler has received numerous first-team All-Pro honors throughout his NFL career and was named to the NFL's 2010 All-Decade squad.

Meanwhile, Arthur Jones, Jon and Chandler's older brother, won the Super Bowl in the 2012 season with the Baltimore Ravens. The Indianapolis Colts signed Arthur in 2014.

After playing for the Colts for two seasons, Arthur joined the Washington Redskins (now the Washington Commanders) in 2017. He decided to end his NFL career after the 2017 season after being hindered by a shoulder ailment.

Why did Jon Jones choose UFC instead of the NFL?

Fans frequently wonder why Jon Jones didn't become a footballer despite coming from a home with two successful NFL players.

Jon Jones admitted to TMZ Sports that he was a horrible football player who frequently stayed on the sidelines.

"I sucked on the football field," Jon Jones said. "I was completely useless. I waited until my senior year of high school to start playing. I was constantly on the team, but I was never given the opportunity to play. I was terrible at football. I was a benchwarmer."
