Justin Fields sustained an injury during the Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons game held last Sunday. In addition to being struck multiple times when rushing the ball and being sacked four times, he also received a potentially damaging blow to the head when sliding.
Fields received treatment for his legs while the game was still in progress. He received thera-gun therapy for his hamstring cramping as well as aided stretching. After the contest, Fields received an IV for the same problem.
Journeyman quarterback Trevor Siemian is expected to replace Justin Fields in the first-team reps.

Trevor Siemian has seen action in only one game this campaign. The Chicago Bears' backup had played for the New York Jets in 2019. Siemian had an 11-3 TD-INT record for the New Orleans Saints last year, but the team tasted defeat in all four of the games he started.
The experienced Siemian, who has 29 starts in his league career, was selected by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He could be a reliable emergency start when necessary and should bring some experience.
On 29 March, Siemian committed to the Bears. In six years with the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, and New Orleans Saints, he has played 33 NFL games, starting 29.
He completed 20 of his 36 throws for 191 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and a passer rating of 98.3 during the preseason.
The Bears meet the Green Bay Packers on 4 December at Soldier Field before having Week 14 off.
When will Justin Fields return?
The extent of Justin Fields' current shoulder ailment was disclosed on Wednesday, and it is still unclear whether he will be available immediately.
According to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic, Fields told media that he has:
"A separated shoulder with a partially torn ligament, basically an AC joint."
Matt Eberflus was questioned about the viability of Fields playing on Sunday against the New York Jets. He said (via Pro Football Talk)
"We'll see where it goes. Day-to-day. We shall see. Wednesday's evaluation was required. We'll then assess the situation from there."
Thanksgiving week has been remarkable for the Bears and their backup quarterbacks.
Mitchell Trubisky was injured in 2018 and they started backup Chase Daniel on Thanksgiving and defeated Detroit Lions. On Thanksgiving last year, they triumphed in Detroit when Andy Dalton replaced Justin Fields, who had a rib problem.
