Mahomes Sr. was born on August 9th, 1970, in Texas. He attended Lindale High School and played baseball, basketball, and football.
He later received collegiate scholarships to play all three sports but narrowed his options down to pursue baseball as a professional career. In 1988, he began his career with minor league side Elizabethton Twins.

It took him only four years to climb up the ladder and play in the MLB. Mahomes Sr. began his career in the big leagues with the Minnesota Twins.
He spent four seasons with the team before joining the Boston Red Sox in 1996. The pitcher then played two seasons with the Yokohama BayStars in the Japanese Central League.
Mahomes Sr. then played for two years with the New York Mets. He had one-year stints each with the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He finished his MLB career with a 42-39 record.
He returned to the minor leagues in 2004 and played for five more seasons before drawing curtains on his pitching career.
Mahomes Sr. was married to Randi Martin and has two kids with her. Their first born is Patrick Mahomes, who plays for the Chiefs. Their second son is named Jackson.
Mahomes Sr. and Randi divorced in 2006. However, the two put their differences aside to raise their children in the best way possible.
Although he is currently retired, Mahomes Sr. will certainly be cheering for his eldest son in the upcoming Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes finished the regular season with a staggering 5,250 yards on 435 pass completions and 41 touchdowns. The Chiefs quarterback added 358 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground to help his team reach the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Mahomes continued his run into the postseason as well. In the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns to help the Chiefs into the Super Bowl.
