The Ravens knew they would host either the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round of the playoffs after their resounding 35-10 win over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. The team's opponent for the Wild Card round has now been determined following the completion of the NFL Week 18 schedule.

Baltimore Ravens' first playoff opponent revealed

The Baltimore Ravens' first opponent in the AFC Wild Card round will be the Pittsburgh Steelers, who finished the regular season with four straight losses. This will be the third meeting between the two divisional rivals this season.

Following their defeat by the Bengals on Saturday, the Steelers ended sixth in the conference, while the Ravens finished third in the AFC behind the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The two teams won one each in their season series, but it was the Ravens that won the AFC North after Pittsburgh's late collapse.

In Week 11's first meeting between the two AFC North rivals, the Steelers defeated the Ravens 18–16 at Acrisure Stadium. Then, in Week 16, Baltimore triumphed 34–17 at M&T Bank Stadium in the rematch.

A victory in the first game gave Pittsburgh a major advantage in the division, but the team ultimately lost four in a row, and Baltimore's four consecutive wins helped the Ravens win the AFC North.

When is the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens Wild Card round game?

The NFL revealed late on Sunday that the third-seeded Baltimore Ravens will face the sixth-seeded Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 11. On that day, the game will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and be shown exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, becoming the first playoff game to be broadcast on the network.

This game will mark the fifth time the Ravens and the Steelers will meet in the playoffs, though it will be the first one not to be hosted by Pittsburgh. The Ravens have only won one of their previous playoff encounters against the Steelers, who have won three. However, it was Baltimore that prevailed 30-17 in its last playoff head-to-head against its divisional rival (2014 Wild Card round game).
