Today is a big day for Sean Taylor, the Washington Commanders, and Taylor's fiance Jackie Garcia. With so much centered around Taylor's memorial unveiling today, we thought it was only right to take a look at his former girlfriend and then fiance Jackie Garcia.
By now, most people know what happened to the Washington star. The former safety was shot by intruders in the upper thigh back in 2007. Taylor was inside his house when he heard some noises and went to investigate. He was shot and taken to hospital but died due to his femoral artery being severed by the gunshot.
Did Jackie Garcia get married after Sean Taylor's death?
After Taylor's death in 2007, it took Garcia three years to move on. Per thecinemaholic.com, Garcia married a musician and record producer named Shay Haley in 2010. The musician is a member of the band called N*E*R*D.

However, not much more is known about the pair as they like to stay away from the media spotlight. We do not know why that is, but with Jackie Taylor (Sean Taylor and Garcia's daughter), it seems like they are a happy family.
Sean Taylor and fiance Jackie Garcia's kids
The high school sweethearts who stuck together through everything until Taylor's shock death do in fact have a child together. At the time of the safety's death, they had a daughter named Jackie Taylor who was 18 months old.
In fact, Jackie was the one who found her father lying on the floor with blood all over him during the home invasion.
Now, Jackie is all grown up and she was named an honorary captain for Washington today as they took on the Atlanta Falcons.
The now 16-year-old took part in pre-game rituals for team captains and as seen above, she walked onto the field along with the Commanders' other captains.
Jackie was named an honourary captain as Sunday marks 15 years since her father's untimely death. Washington built a "statue" for her father to honor him as well.
While the statue has drawn its fair share of criticism, it is about honoring the former Washington star and everyone is doing their part.
