Tyler Huntley was born on Feb. 3, 1998, in Dania Beach, Florida, to Regina and Ricky Huntley. He has two brothers and a sister.

Huntley attended Hallandale High School in Hallandale Beach, Florida, where he honed his skills as a quarterback on the gridiron. He finished his high school career with 9,053 passing yards and 106 touchdowns.

Huntrly committed to Utah in 2016 and played four seasons with the Utes, earning a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2019. The quarterback completed 574 of 854 passes for 7,351 yards with 46 touchdowns and threw 20 interceptions with the program. He also rushed for 1,146 yards on 389 attempts and scored 16 touchdowns across 37 games.

Huntley graduated with a sociology major and received his Bachelor's degree from Utah in December 2019. He then pursued professional football and declared for the 2020 NFL draft but went undrafted. Nonetheless, Huntley was given an opportunity in the big league when the Baltimore Ravens signed him as a free agent soon after the draft.

Huntley was signed to Baltimore's practice squad in September but was elevated to the active roster in December. He made his debut for the Ravens in the fourth quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15, replacing Lamar Jackson.

Huntley continued to serve as Jackson's backup for his four seasons at Baltimore. He got an extended run of games in 2022 when he replaced Jackson for the second half of the season. Huntley got selected for the Pro Bowl game on Jan. 30, 2023, as an injury replacement for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, despite playing only six games that season.

During his four seasons with the Ravens, Huntley completed 221 of 342 passes for 1,957 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 509 yards and scored three touchdowns across 20 appearances (nine starts).

In March 2024, Huntley signed with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns released the player on Aug. 29 but the Ravens re-signed him the next day to fill in as their third-choice quarterback.

On Sept. 16, the Dolphins signed Tyler Huntley off the Ravens' practice squad. He was initially considered the third-string quarterback at Miami but will get his first start for the team in Week 4 against the Titans on Monday.
