The NFL playoffs are fast approaching following the conclusion of the 2024-25 regular season. The Kansas City Chiefs are aiming for a three-peat of Super Bowls and already hold a slight advantage over the other teams in the AFC.

Despite losing their final game of the regular season in which they rested their starters, the Chiefs (15-2) secured the top seed in the AFC This means that they will get an automatic bid into the Divisional Round, with a bye in the Wild Card Round.

Due to their No. 1 seed, the Chiefs will need to wait longer than normal to find out their next opponents in the playoffs. Nonetheless, Kansas City will face the lowest remaining seed following the Wild Card Round.

As things stand, the Chiefs can play four opponents in the Divisional Round, including the Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Denver Broncos.

Here's a look at how the Chiefs' next opponent could be determined.

Houston Texans

The No. 4 seed Texans will face the fifth-seeded Chargers in the Wild Card Round. If the No. 2 seed Bills, No. 3 seed Ravens and the No. 4 seed Texans all win in the first round of the postseason, Houston would be the lowest remaining seed and would have to face Kansas City.

Los Angeles Chargers

The No. 5 seed Chargers could set up a clash against the Chiefs if they beat the No. 4 seed Texans, and also see both the No. 6 seed Steelers and No. 7 seed Broncos lose in the Wild Card Round.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The No. 6 seed Steelers can draw Kansas City in the Divisional Round if they win their Wild Card game against the Ravens and have the Broncos lose their matchup against the Bills.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos will set up a clash against the Chiefs in the Divisional Round if they simply win against the Bills in their NFL Playoff's Wild Card Round.
