Bo Nix is in the spotlight ahead of the Denver Broncos' final preseason game on Sunday. The Broncos quarterback will not feature in the Week 3 preseason contest against the Arizona Cardinals at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.
Why is Bo Nix not playing today?

According to Arizona Sports, the Broncos don't want to risk injury to Bo Nix in their preseason finale against the Cardinals, even though the player is listed as active. Nix was named Denver's QB1 on Wednesday and the Broncos are being cautious with him before the regular season.

Earlier this week, Broncos coach Sean Payton said Nix's backups Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson would share the snaps against the Cardinals.
"I'd like to see (Stidham) get eight to 12 plays, and then we'll get a lot of work with Zach at some point in that first or early second quarter," Payton said.
The Broncos selected Nix with the No. 12 pick in this year's NFL draft. The quarterback featured in the team's two preseason games this month against the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers. Across those two games, he completed 23 of 30 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns.
Nix will start in Denver's Week 1 regular season game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 8.
