DeVonta Smith is in his fourth year with the Philadelphia Eagles. The wideout has grown into one of the more important players on the roster, and his teammates often refer to him as the "Slim Reaper."

Smith was first given the nickname by his teammates in college at Alabama due to his slim frame and athletic ability. The wideout was a popular player during his four years with the Tide, helping the program win two national championships. Smith also won the coveted Heisman Trophy in his senior year in 2020.

Notably, "Slim Reaper" is also a nickname given to two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant.

Apart from being called the Slim Reaper, Smith is also known by his Eagles teammates as the “Silent Assassin" since his on-field ability does most of the talking.

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted DeVonta Smith with the No. 10 pick in 2021. He hit the ground running for the Eagles, recording 916 yards on 64 receptions and catching five touchdowns as a rookie.

In the 2022 season, Smith posted 1,196 yards on 95 receptions and caught seven touchdowns while playing in all 17 regular-season games. The wideout also caught 197 yards and a touchdown in three postseason games that year as Philly reached the postseason, only to lose against the Kansas City Chiefs at the final hurdle.

Smith had another solid season in 2023, racking up 1,066 yards on 81 receptions with seven touchdown catches. He has been part of the playoffs in each season with the Eagles and has forged an excellent partnership with quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Smith has gotten off to a strong start in the 2024 season as well. He has recorded 160 yards on 14 receptions with a touchdown in two games.

Surprisingly, Smith has never made it to the Pro Bowl in his career. However, that could change if he makes a few minor improvements in his game this year.
