Roger Goodell and the NFL are still getting a lot of criticism for granting Peacock the sole broadcast rights to the crucial Wild Card Round matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs. The streaming platform reportedly agreed to $110,000,000 to broadcast the game.
The league commissioner has come under fire from both fans and analysts for selling the rights to a playoff game to a streaming service, which will prevent many people from watching the much-awaited game.
Congressman Pat Ryan of New York demanded on Friday that the NFL and NBC stop "this Peacock bait-and-switch BS and offer the Dolphins-Chiefs game on TV" on X.
Ryan made critical remarks, calling it "absolutely ridiculous" for fans to have to pay for a different streaming service in order to watch a postseason game.

The NFL states that while NBC stations in Miami (WTVJ) and Kansas City (KSHB) will broadcast the Dolphins vs. Chiefs Wild Card game, fans outside of both areas will only be able to see the event on Peacock. In an attempt by NBC to increase the number of Peacock subscribers, cable subscribers will not be able to see the game.
Peacock's monthly subscription charge is $5.99, or $29.99 if you take advantage of their current 50% off offer, for an entire year. The streaming service also holds the exclusive rights to other popular NBC television programs from the past, including Modern Family and The Office.
