While many followers have been researching Tom Brady's strategies and what he might try to accomplish in future, some are equally interested in learning about his private affairs. A keen area of interest is his well-known, rigorous diet. Many have been perplexed by Brady's lack of tomato consumption for some time now.

Brady continues to amaze fans by playing at a high level, something he attributes, among many other things, to his reluctance to consume tomatoes or aubergines.

It seems sensible that you would want to adjust certain aspects of your diet to compete at your best when your health is your livelihood, as it is for many athletes. However, for some people, eating a balanced diet is insufficient.

He explained in his book How to Achieve a Lifetime of Sustained Peak Performance that he avoids 'Nightshades'. This a category of vegetables that includes aubergines and tomatoes.

His avoidance of Nightshades is a component of his 12-step strategy to keep a terrific shape since they promote inflammation and elevate his body's pH level. In other words, he doesn't eat them to keep his body active during the game.

Tom Brady claims his nutrition and exercise routine are part of why he rarely gets injured and how he enhances his athletic ability, rehabilitation, energy levels, and general health.

Research, however, refutes the assumption that Nightshade plants induce inflammation. In reality, such vegetables, like eggplants, peppers, and tomatoes, contain compounds like antioxidants, along with specific vitamins and minerals, that are thought to be anti-inflammatory.

What Tom Brady's diet is like?

Tom Brady focuses on 'alkalizing' items, which are anti-inflammatory meals, in his diet. According to his personal chef, Brady eats 80 percent vegetables. He also consumes a large amount of water, between 12 and 25 glasses daily.

Also highlighted was the quarterback's dislike of strawberries. The harmless fruit was a summer-time staple in his childhood home, but he never ate one.

According to Men's Health, Tom Brady's diet primarily comprises plant-based proteins with a small amount of lean beef thrown in. He likes lots of protein at lunch and smoothies with bananas and berries in the morning.

Also interspersed throughout his day are munchies like guacamole, almonds, and hummus. He also consumes a lot of water to keep things flowing.
