Will Anderson Jr. is considered one of the top prospects in the upcoming draft class. The Alabama Crimson Tide edge rusher has had a great run in three years of college and is expected to be among the top picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Anderson will face competition from Georgia's Jalen Carter in being the first defensive player to be picked in this year's draft. However, some believe that Anderson will be ahead of Carter and could be drafted as high as the second overall pick.
In three years at Alabama, Anderson recorded 114 solo tackles, 90 assisted tackles, 58.5 tackles for loss, 34.5 sacks, an interception and a forced fumble.

The Houston Texans are expected to get their first overall pick for the 2023 NFL Draft and will likely go for a quarterback. In contrast, if the second overall pick remains with the Chicago Bears, it won't be a surprise if they draft Anderson.
The Bears are likely to entertain offers for their second overall pick and that could tempt another franchise to move up and draft another quarterback. If that's the case, we might see Anderson falling down a few spots. Many in the NFL believe that either Jalen Carter or Will Anderson Jr. will be drafted with the third overall pick.
Currently, the Seattle Seahawks are projected to get the third overall pick via the Denver Broncos, and the Seahawks need a defensive star. They will be an ideal place for a player like Anderson who is destined to become a force in the league.
Thus, it is fair to say that Will Anderson Jr. will likely be a top-three pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but things could change depending on trades and other factors.
Will Anderson Jr. will not be Alabama's only early first-round pick
Alabama has one of the best football programs in the country and every single year many of its players get picked in the first round of the draft. Not only Will Anderson Jr,. but quarterback Bryce Young is also projected to be among the top picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.
If the Houston Texans are able to get the first overall pick, Bryce Young could well be on his way there. League executives rate him a bit higher than Ohio State's C.J. Stroud and Young is expected to be the first overall pick in the upcoming draft.
In his three years at Alabama, Young played 34 games in which he threw for 8,356 yards along with 80 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Both Bryce Young and Will Anderson Jr. have had great college careers and would love to translate that into the NFL.
