Will Andrew Luck ever return to the NFL?

Andrew Luck appears to be satisfied with his decision to leave the NFL. But that doesn't indicate that there has not been a desire to play football again. If he returns, it will be as a coach rather than a player in the NFL.

In an article by ESPN's Seth Wickersham that describes Andrew Luck as he is right now, the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback may be considering a comeback to the game he adores.

More than three years have passed since Luck announced his sudden departure from the NFL and the former Colts quarterback has spoken up about the difficulties that influenced his choice.

However, Luck will not completely rule out a coaching comeback in the future. He acknowledged the aspects of football he missed, but also understood that there was no turning back, despite his continuing wishes.

Before selecting Carson Wentz as their starting quarterback, the Washington Commanders considered Andrew Luck, according to ESPN's John Keim. Luck has made no indication that he intends to play again, and Jim Irsay previously told Colts supporters that Luck was not coming back.

Why did Andrew Luck retire from the NFL?

When asked about his decision to retire at 29, two weeks before the 2019 season began, Andrew Luck admitted that he regretted the timing, but didn't feel bad about leaving the game.

Luck stated that he retired to enjoy the company of his wife and daughter more and because he didn't think he was living up to people's expectations of him.

As the first overall draft pick and Peyton Manning's replacement, he believed that his entire identity depended on living up to expectations in Indianapolis.

Throughout his career, Luck went through several injuries that required him to miss time on the field, but his mental health ultimately prompted him to call it quits.

In the interview, Luck stated that he suffered an identity crisis due to having to alter his demeanor to be the Colts dressing room leader he was required to be.

After a successful 2018 campaign, wherein he threw 39 TD passes, guided the Colts to the postseason, and received NFL Comeback Player of the Year, he chose to retire.

With 2,3671 passing yards, 171 touchdown passes, a regular-season record of 53-33, and a career completion rate of 60.8, the four-time Pro Bowler called it a day in the NFL.
